It began in 2015 when the founder of a national charity noticed women going without the most basic hygiene items. What started as a Brisbane community effort by a mother-of-two, collecting period products and dropping them off at local shelters, has grown into a full-blown movement. Today the organisation coordinates more than 3,500 volunteers around the country and has worked with major retailers to deliver millions of items to people in need.

The founder remembers the moment she decided to act: a simple realisation turned into a stubborn determination to make a difference. No grand plan, just a crate of sanitary supplies and the willingness to knock on doors until someone said yes.

Two-Year Partnership And The Dignity D-MAX

Isuzu UTE Australia has signed on for a two-year partnership with the charity, supplying a brand-new Isuzu D-MAX X-TERRAIN wrapped in pink and dubbed the Dignity D-MAX. The vehicle will be used for transport and delivery during national campaigns, and will appear at community and media events to raise awareness and lend a bit of colour to the cause.

The managing director of the company said they are pleased to support the charity’s work and to help deliver dignity to vulnerable Australians when they need it most. It is the sort of practical assistance that turns good intentions into tangible outcomes.

Backing National Campaigns

As part of the partnership, Isuzu will collaborate on the charity’s major annual campaigns. Dignity Drive runs twice a year, in March and August, asking Australians to donate period products at Woolworths stores nationwide. Those donations are then distributed to women and girls facing domestic violence, homelessness, or poverty.

In November the November campaign, It’s in the Bag, encourages people to donate a handbag at Bunnings filled with essential items. Suggested contents include period products, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and a thoughtful note of support. It’s practical, human, and exactly the kind of gesture that helps at a difficult time.

Community Impact And Growing Support

This charity has always been a band of ordinary people doing extraordinary small things, men included. The added logistics and visibility from the Isuzu partnership are intended to make sure the organisation never misses an opportunity to reach those who need help.
