If you want an electric family SUV that behaves like a grown-up without charging your life savings, Škoda’s refreshed Enyaq range has turned up and raised its hand. It sits above the sprightlier Elroq in the lineup, but below the bank-destroying end of the market, offering sensible space, sensible range and sensible prices, all wrapped in the sort of European design that makes in-laws nod approvingly.
Model Lineup And Pricing
There are three flavours to pick from. The Enyaq 60 Select kicks things off from $50,990 RRP or $54,990 drive-away and brings a roomy family SUV package with a WLTP combined range that will shrug off most daily commutes. Move up to the Enyaq 85 Sportline and you get extra punch and kit from $59,990 RRP or $63,990 drive-away. At the top is the Enyaq Coupe 85 Sportline, the swoopier option with the longest range, priced from $65,990 RRP or $68,990 drive-away.
Performance And Range
The 60 Select serves up 150 kW and 310 Nm, hitting 100 km/h in about 8.1 seconds and offering roughly 410 km WLTP combined range. The 85 Sportline is the brisker sibling with 210 kW and a hefty 545 Nm, 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds and around 547 km WLTP combined range. The Coupe 85 Sportline stretches that range to about 561 km WLTP combined and adds adaptive chassis control and some proper top-tier kit.
Standard Equipment And Safety
Škoda has packed the Enyaq with a comprehensive safety suite as standard. Expect Travel Assist with adaptive cruise and lane assistance, Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, Emergency Assist and a raft of driver aids for traffic jams and parking. There are seven airbags, front and rear sensors with manoeuvre assist and a rear view camera. Practicality is handled too, with 585 litres of luggage space in the regular SUV and a range of Simply Clever features such as a door umbrella, charging cable bag, adjustable cargo partitions and a removable rear storage caddy.
Infotainment is generous, with a 13 inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging with ventilation, multiple USB-C charging ports and an eight speaker audio system as standard.
Options And Packs
The 60 Select rolls on 19 inch Regulus alloys, with 20 inch Vega wheels available for $1,000 extra. There is also a Signature Pack for about $6,000 which installs Matrix LED headlights, an augmented reality head-up display, a premium CANTON sound system, a 360 degree view camera and power adjustable, memory and massage seats among other luxuries.
The 85 Sportline comes with 20 inch Vega wheels, progressive steering, Matrix LED lights and sport styling inside and out. Pairing Signature spec with Sportline is possible, and for roughly $5,000 more there is an Ultimate Package that adds adaptive chassis control, augmented reality HUD, CANTON audio, intelligent park assist, an illuminated grille and 21 inch Supernova alloys. A panoramic glass sunroof with electric blind is available for about $2,000.
Value, Warranty And Finance
These Enyaqs are pitched as strong value for a European-designed, engineered and built electric SUV with a seven year unlimited kilometre warranty. Škoda also offers Guaranteed Future Value finance via its finance arm, with a headline interest rate example of 7.99 percent per annum. Representative weekly repayments for a five year term with a 20 percent deposit are roughly $163 for the 60 Select, $189 for the 85 Sportline and $202 for the Coupe variant, depending on final deal structure.
For context, the Enyaq 60 Select undercuts a rival long-range compact SUV by around $8,000 on RRP, while the 85 Sportline is very close in price yet delivers more torque, greater claimed range, metallic paint and charging cables included, plus a longer warranty.
Availability
The Enyaq 85 models are available in showrooms now, and the 60 Select will arrive from November. If you want something that combines sensible family space, genuinely useful EV range and a tidy European build without trying to be ostentatious, this refreshed Enyaq line-up deserves a look.
