Hyundai Motor Company Australia has raised the stakes. Starting 1 September 2025 the company is offering a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty on passenger vehicles, provided owners keep up with scheduled servicing at an authorised Hyundai dealer. Think of it as peace of mind, turned up to eleven.

What The Warranty Covers

This is not just the usual engine and gearbox song and dance. The seven year package covers corrosion, paint durability and the multimedia system, items that some rivals like to tiptoe around. Electric vehicle owners should note the high-voltage battery continues to carry an 8-year or 160,000 kilometre warranty, whichever comes first.

Who Is Eligible And How It Works

The extended warranty applies to all new Hyundai passenger cars first registered from 1 June 2025, and kicks in on 1 September 2025. To claim the full seven years, every scheduled service must be completed at an authorised Hyundai dealer from the very first service and carried out according to the manufacturer’s specified intervals. If you decide to service elsewhere, the standard 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty still applies.

Additional Benefits

Keep your Hyundai serviced in the dealer network and the perks stack up. Eligible vehicles that meet the servicing conditions get a complimentary Bluelink subscription extended to seven years. There is also a 24/7 Australia-wide Premium Roadside Support Plan available for the lifetime of the vehicle when customers continue to service within the Hyundai network.

Exclusions And Commercial Use

There are sensible limits. Commercial vans such as the STARIA LOAD retain a 5-year or 160,000 kilometre warranty. Vehicles used for commercial applications, including taxi, hire, ride-share, rental, courier, delivery, security, driving school, tour operators or emergency services, have different terms. Passenger vehicles that are or have been used commercially have a 5-year or 130,000 kilometre warranty. A people mover van used commercially has a 5-year or 160,000 kilometre warranty. Commercial vans have a 5-year 160,000 kilometre warranty regardless of use.

Aftersales Changes: myHyundaiCare And Service Plans

Hyundai is replacing the old iCare program with myHyundaiCare, a more connected and customer-focused service experience. The Lifetime Service Plan has been renamed Genuine Service Plan to emphasise quality servicing with genuine parts and factory-trained technicians. Owners can now quote and book services online instantly, which makes life a lot simpler.

A Brief Warranty History

Hyundai has not arrived here by accident. The brand introduced a 5-year 130,000 kilometre warranty back in 1999, moved to a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty in 2007 and now, in 2025, offers a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty when the required servicing is carried out within the Hyundai network. It is evolution dressed up as common sense.

The upshot is straightforward. Hyundai is offering extended reassurance to buyers who commit to dealer servicing. If you want long-term coverage, keep your car in the hands of the people who built it and enjoy the longer warranty and added services that come with it.
