GAC Unveils Off Road SUV And Tech At Auto China Beijing

GAC has rolled into Auto China with the sort of confidence usually reserved for people who know they have more cars than sense. The company is showing a raft of new metal that includes its first proper off road model, a fresh plug in hybrid MPV and a handful of toys that suggest it is as interested in robots and flying taxis as it is in SUVs.
AION And The Easy Life Makeover
One GAC is the branding tune this year, which means AION, Hyptec and the others will be presented as parts of a single, slightly ambitious family. AION gets a visual reboot and a new logo that promises an “Easy Life”. The Concept Aero is the first car to wear the new look, and it is being used to telegraph a shift toward smarter and sleeker urban transport rather than suburban sofa on wheels.
New Off Roader And Next Gen PHEV
From the people who brought Australia a plug in hybrid MPV comes two new entries: a seriously intended off road model and the E8 PHEV MPV, which carries GAC’s next generation plug in hybrid tech. The line is being stretched from hardcore off roading to high end business travel and family haulers, because why be niche when you can be everything to everyone?

Hyptec, Aistaland And The New Luxury S600
GAC Hyptec will set out a new brand philosophy and unveil the S600, billed as a luxury intelligent sports SUV. It will be available for pre orders, which is the polite way of saying you can put money down now and assume good things will follow.
Aistaland, Flying Cars And Robot Helpers
The high end Aistaland brand, a collaboration with Huawei Qiankun, sends the Aistaland GT7 onto the international stage. It is described as a new generation intelligent shooting brake, heavy on aesthetics, driving control and onboard intelligence. That one will sit in Hall W3 while the rest of the GAC families parade in Hall A3.
For the theatrics, the GAC Technology Hub is trotting out a mass produced autonomous multi rotor flying car and an intelligent humanoid robot. Call it automotive showmanship with drones and servos. The implication is clear: GAC wants to be seen as a mobility and tech company, not just a maker of sensible family transport.
So if you like SUVs, hybrids and the occasional flying contraption, the GAC stand is worth a visit. It is trying to be many things at once, and that in itself is a very modern kind of confidence.
