There is something deliciously forthright about a car that announces itself as both an SUV and a sports machine, and Subaru Uncharted does exactly that. It arrives with the sort of swagger usually reserved for people who have won things, but in this case the trophy is acceleration and composure rather than a personality disorder.

Performance

Power comes from two electric motors delivering a combined 252kW, which Subaru reckons will shove you from 0 to 100 km/h in about five seconds. That immediacy is married to Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, so the shove is useable rather than merely theatrical. The package is compact, the dynamics tuned for agility, and the result is a car that wants to be hustled whether you are threading city streets or pointing it down a country lane.

Range And Charging

Under the bonnet there is a 74.7kWh CATL battery with a preliminary WLTP range estimate of up to 522km. Fast charging at up to 150kW can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes, and a 22kW three-phase AC option handles the slower, everyday fill-ups. For those who like to camp with a coffee machine, Uncharted also offers 1500W vehicle to load capability to power compatible devices.

Off Road And Practical Capability

This is still very much an SUV in the practical sense, with 211mm of ground clearance and the sort of traction aids you actually want when the road forgets how to be a road. X-Mode, Downhill Assist Control and the familiar Subaru traction suite are all present, which means this electric newcomer retains the brand’s traditional can-do attitude across mixed surfaces.

Interior And Technology

Inside there is a modern, driver-focused cabin dominated by a 14-inch touchscreen, plus dual wireless device charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Key functions keep physical switches, which is sensible because not everything should be hidden behind a menu. The cockpit feels like a place to drive from, not a place to consult a manual.

Safety And Systems

Subaru continues its long-running safety emphasis with a broad suite of assistance tech. Subaru Safety Sense, Vision Assist with blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree view monitor and a driver monitoring system come as part of the package, combining to make the car feel both capable and considerate.

The Uncharted completes Subaru’s progression from a single electric model to a small family of electric SUVs, slotting into a mid-2026 arrival window. Final pricing and specifications will be announced closer to launch, and the usual caveats apply to range and charging times because real world conditions tend to enjoy being awkward.
