The crew noted that tomorrow’s Marathon stage will be the decisive day of this Dakar, as expected when you send people out to race across a continent.

Mechanical Setback For Another Crew

A second team car, which had started the stage in second place, suffered a snapped alternator drive belt between KP 267 and KP 310. At the time of the report they were still on stage but would soon be escorted back to the bivouac with assistance from a competitor. The team assessed the damage as not repairable on the route, yet remain hopeful the crew will be able to rejoin the rally tomorrow.

Team Response

The Head of Technical Integration praised the stage performance, noting the leading crew’s third stage win and the strong result that moved their teammates into second in the Stock class. He confirmed the alternator belt failure had stopped the other car on stage and could not be fixed there, but expressed confidence the crew would be back in action for the next day.
