Jack Daniel’s Turns Up Melbourne Race Week

Right. Melbourne. March. The smell of burnt rubber, overpriced chips and ambition hanging in the air like tyre smoke over Albert Park.
And while the cars scream around the lake pretending to defy physics, Jack Daniel’s has decided that what this city really needs is not more horsepower… but more noise.
Welcome to Melbourne’s largest and loudest off-track race week line-up.
And frankly, it sounds like chaos in the best possible way.
Race Week Into a City-Wide Festival
In celebration of its partnership with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is unleashing four days of live music, fan madness and immersive nonsense across Melbourne from 5 to 8 March.
And this is not some polite, corporate, wristband-only affair.
This is Middle Park Hotel, The Espy and Crown Melbourne all being turned into interconnected fan hubs. Open to everyone. Ticket holders. Non-ticket holders. People who just wandered in because they heard bass vibrating the footpath.
It is motorsport energy without the grandstand queue.
Middle Park Hotel, The McLaren Party Base Camp

If Albert Park is where the serious racing happens, Middle Park Hotel is where the mischief begins.
It all kicks off Thursday night with an “unofficial” McLaren Warm-Up Party. Which, translated from marketing speak, means: loud music, surprise guest, merch giveaways and a lot of enthusiastic cheering.
From 7:00pm, the marquee becomes pre-race central. Replica race gear. Helmets. Memorabilia. Party playlists that make you feel like you should be wearing a headset and shouting about tyre strategy.
And just steps from Gate 1 of Albert Park, it is dangerously convenient.
Then it continues. For four days.
Middle Park becomes a full McLaren-themed street party. Pop-up bars. Dedicated food. Daily entertainment. The sort of place you enter for “just one” and emerge blinking at midnight wondering what year it is.
Every evening from 5:00pm to 6:00pm is Jack’s Hour. Exclusive merch. Drink specials. Prize draw entries. And the headline prize? A bespoke artwork by Melbourne artist Glen Downey, signed by McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Which is not something you casually pick up at a servo.
Jack’s Bus, The Rolling Whiskey Circus

Now this is where it gets properly ridiculous.
Jack’s Bus.
A moving race-week celebration. Because apparently walking is for amateurs.
Parked at Middle Park Hotel from midday to 3:00pm, this rolling monument to Tennessee hosts intimate whiskey and cocktail sessions. Rare expressions. Brand ambassadors. The kind of tasting experience that makes you nod thoughtfully and say things like “yes, notes of oak”.
Then from 4:00pm to 7:30pm, it shuttles fans between Middle Park and The Espy.
Part tasting room. Part transport. Part mobile party.
In other words, the only Grand Prix shuttle that improves your mood dramatically.
Spots are secured on the ground during race week, which means yes, you will have to actually show up and commit.
Shocking, I know.
The Espy, Jack’s Garage Goes Full Throttle

If Middle Park is the warm-up, The Espy is where things get loud.
The entire venue transforms into Jack’s Garage. Race week after-dark headquarters.
Every night from 7:30pm in the Gershwin Room, free live music from an all-Australian line-up:
- Thursday 5 March, The Presets
- Friday 6 March, Slowly Slowly
- Saturday 7 March, Anna Lunoe
- Sunday 8 March, Keli Holiday
Free. But RSVP required. Because even chaos needs a headcount.
And if you cannot squeeze into the main room, performances are broadcast throughout the venue. So you can still pretend you are front row while holding a drink and shouting the wrong lyrics.

Then there is Jack’s Karaoke in the Engine Room.
Not the tragic, lonely karaoke you see at 1:00am on a Wednesday.
This is a live-band singing competition.
Practice sessions. Qualifiers. And a Sunday night final with $5,000 cash on the line.
It is motorsport weekend. Naturally, someone thought competitive karaoke was the logical extension.
And frankly, they were right.
Crown Melbourne, Jack’s Pit Stop With Actual Stakes
As if that were not enough, race week spills into Crown Melbourne.
Jack’s Pit Stop takes over The Pub, Sports Bar and Jackpot venues.
Spend $20 or more on Jack Daniel’s products over the weekend and you go into the draw to win a trip to Las Vegas.
Which is either glamorous or dangerous depending on your personality.
You can also customise complimentary race-inspired tees. Because nothing says “I was there” like a shirt you designed after two drinks.
The Verdict, Controlled Mayhem Done Properly
Here is the thing.
Race week in Melbourne is already massive. The noise. The crowds. The endless debate about who has the better aero package.
But what Jack Daniel’s has done is stretch that energy beyond the circuit.
They have turned the entire city fringe into a festival. A four-day blur of music, whiskey, McLaren tributes and competitive karaoke.
You do not need a grandstand ticket to be part of it.
You just need stamina.

Because if you thought race week was loud before, you have not heard anything yet.
