Voting for GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers of 2024 Is Now Open
Your mates 1
Now in its 17th year, the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll invites beer lovers across the nation to celebrate Australia’s talented breweries. More than just a poll, this event is a nationwide toast to creativity, craftsmanship, and the brews that bring people together.
What Is the GABS Hottest 100?
Widely regarded as one of the world’s largest polls of its kind, the GABS Hottest 100 gives craft beer enthusiasts the chance to vote for their top five favourite beers of the year. This year’s voting opened on 2nd December 2024 and will close at 11:59pm AEDT on 12th January 2025. The winners will be announced during a nationwide countdown on 25th January 2025.
2024 has seen an explosion of creativity in the craft beer scene, with breweries across Australia delivering exceptional beers in a variety of styles. From hop-forward double IPAs and juicy hazy ales to refreshing lagers, rich porters, and fruity sours, the options are as diverse as they are delicious. With so many incredible options to choose from, narrowing it down to just five beers might be the toughest decision for voters this year.
Why Vote?
Casting your vote isn’t just a way to celebrate your personal favourites—it’s also an opportunity to support the talented brewers who make Australia’s craft beer scene one of the best in the world. As an added bonus, all voters are entered into a draw to win a share of prizes valued at $10,000.
Looking Back at 2023’s Winners

In 2023, nearly 60,000 beer lovers cast close to 300,000 votes for beers crafted by 436 breweries. Mountain Culture Beer Co’s Status Quo Pale Ale claimed the top spot, with Balter Brewing’s XPA and BentSpoke Brewing Co’s Crankshaft IPA taking second and third place, respectively. Alongside the main Hottest 100 list, GABS also releases additional rankings, including the Hottest Indie Beers, Hottest New Beers, and Hottest Next Beers (#101-#200).
Countdown Parties and Live Broadcast
To mark the occasion, venues across Australia will host countdown parties on 25th January 2025. Beer lovers can gather at participating locations or tune in to the live podcast hosted by Craig Williams from The Crafty Pint. Craig will guide listeners through the countdown journey, celebrating the brewers and beers that made the list.

GABS is proud to partner with First Choice Liquor Market as the platinum sponsor for the Hottest 100 Countdown. Supporting partners include Vintage Cellars, Liquorland, and East Coast Canning + Printing.
