XPENG G6 Arrives With 800V Charging And Sharper Style
midnight black
Reservations are open and the New XPENG G6 is rolling into Australian showrooms this July. It is a mid-size premium electric SUV built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, promises 5C ultra-fast charging and a sharper design that tries very hard to look like it means business. Under test conditions the batteries can go from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 12 minutes.
Four Variants, Clear Intent
The G6 lands in Australia in four guises: RWD Standard Range with up to 480 km WLTP, RWD Long Range up to 525 km WLTP, AWD Performance up to 510 km WLTP, and an AWD Performance Black Edition that dresses the performance car in a monochrome suit. WLTP figures are laboratory numbers; real-world range will, naturally, depend on how you drive it.

Price Tags That Do Not Hide
Manufacturer pricing is GST-inclusive and excludes on-road costs. The RWD Standard Range starts at $51,800, the RWD Long Range at $56,800, AWD Performance at $63,800 and the AWD Performance Black Edition at $66,800. The online configurator will show drive-away figures that include on-road costs for your state.
Platform And Charging
The headline tech is the 800V Silicon Carbide architecture and ubiquitous 5C charging capability. The Long Range variant claims peak DC charging power up to 451 kW under test conditions and efficiency from about 16.6 kWh per 100 km in the lab. There is also Vehicle-to-Load capability up to 6 kW for powering bits and pieces when you need it.

Cabin, Screens And Sound
Inside you get a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver display and an XOPERA audio system with 18 speakers in a 7.1.4 layout. There is Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual wireless phone charging and over-the-air updates. Nappa leather, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats are available for those who insist their electric SUV doubles as a rolling spa.

Driver Assistance And Safety
The G6 ships with XPILOT Assist driver assistance features on Australian specification vehicles, including adaptive cruise control, lane centring, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and a surround-view system with a transparent chassis view. It is meant to assist the driver, not replace one, so keep your hands on the wheel and your wits about you.

Black Edition And Warranty
The Black Edition is the visual flagship: exclusive black paint, 20-inch black wheels, smoked badging and other darkened touches. Warranty cover is generous by modern standards with a factory-backed programme including 7 years and unlimited kilometres for private owners and extended coverage for battery and drive components. Recommended service interval is every 12 months or 20,000 km.
Reservations are available now through authorised dealers and the official website, with deliveries starting in July 2026.
