Australia just got the MGU9 Black Edition, a limited-run ute that prefers to be seen at night. Priced from $57,990 drive away, it is the first market in the world to get this blacked-out spin on the MGU9 and it arrives wearing attitude as standard.
Think of it as the same pragmatic ute under the skin, but dressed like it means business. Exterior bits are heavily darkened – grille, badging, wheel caps and side trim – and there is a stamped tailgate for a bit of theatre. The whole package aims to give the dual-cab a sharper, more contemporary look without pretending to be something it is not.
Underneath the moody paint is proper ute hardware: a 2.5-litre turbo diesel, ZF eight-speed automatic, and a three-Lock system for extra traction off-road.
