If you thought people were done splashing cash on mechanical toys, April proves you wrong. Collecting Cars blew past its March result, selling 105 lots and raking in more than AU $8 million. That is not small change. It is serious-wallet territory.

Listings were up seven percent on March, making April the busiest month so far this year. Year-to-date sales now top AU $32 million – about AU $5 million more than at the same point last year. The twelfth Heritage Number Plate sale also helped grease the wheels for this tidy result.

The company says the strong start to 2026 signals market confidence from both buyers and sellers of collectible cars. In plain English: people are still buying, and other people are still selling.
