All-New Kia Seltos Arrives In Australia With Hybrid Power
kia sp3 seltos first look 12 hires
The all-new Kia Seltos has arrived in Australia as a pre-production display, giving a proper first look at the compact SUV that will be offered locally from Q4 2026. Think roomier proportions, more screens and one very deliberate choice: hybrid only.
Design That Wants Attention
Kia has applied its Opposites United design language with gusto. The Seltos gets a wider grille with star map lighting, flush door handles, a floating roofline and a new rear taillight signature. The shell has grown in all the sensible places: length is up 45 mm to 4,430 mm, width increases 30 mm to 1,830 mm and wheelbase stretches by 60 mm to 2,690 mm. Height is down 30 mm to 1,600 mm, which helps the stance look more purposeful.
Interior: Screens, Comfort And Clever Packaging
Inside is where Kia tries to seduce you. Two 12.3 inch screens sit side by side, over-the-air software updates are standard and the gearshift is a column-type shift-by-wire control that frees up the centre console. Materials have been stepped up across the board and second row seats recline by a total of 24 degrees for a genuinely more comfortable back seat.

Hybrid Power And Practical Details
The new Seltos will be sold exclusively with a hybrid powertrain in Australia, chosen in part because it meets Euro 6d emissions standards and helps future-proof the model. Kia is also introducing Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0. There will be no vehicle-to-load function in local specification and 2WD trims will carry a space saver spare rather than a full-sized tyre.

Luggage capacity nudges up too, from 468 litres to 483 litres with the rear seats up, while clever packaging from the new K3 platform promises more shoulder and head room in both rows.

Ride, Safety And The Local Tune
The all-new Seltos rides on Kia’s K3 platform and has been through the manufacturer’s local Ride and Handling program, which means the Australian spec gets bespoke suspension and steering tuning. Buyers can expect the usual roster of advanced driver assistance systems and Kia is targeting a strong ANCAP outcome.
When It Will Be On Sale
Expect the Seltos to arrive in showrooms in Q4 2026. Full specifications, final feature lists and pricing will be revealed closer to launch. For now, if you want a compact SUV that leans into tech and hybrid efficiency rather than theatrical novelty, this one is worth a hard look.
