Jaguar TCS Racing returns to the fray this weekend as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship lights up São Paulo for the 2025 E-Prix. It is the start of a tenth season for the British outfit, a milestone that has been earned the hard way, on tight street circuits, under bright lights and against very determined opposition.

Season Opener In São Paulo

The curtain rises at 14:05 Brasilia time on Saturday 6 December. The Anhembi Sambadrome is the theatre, and it remains the sort of place where miracles and mayhem can happen in equal measure. Last year’s encounter produced one of those unforgettable moments when the team’s #9 driver charged from the back of the grid to take victory. Expect noise, flair and close racing from the crowd that makes São Paulo such a unique opening round.

A Decade Of Results

Over nine seasons the team has compiled an impressive ledger: 22 wins, 31 further podiums and 1,638 points from 127 starts. Jaguar TCS Racing lifted the Teams’ World Championship and the Manufacturer’s Trophy in 2024, and the formbook heading into this campaign is bullish. The I‑TYPE 7 delivered more race wins last year than any other car, helping the team to six victories overall and an extraordinary run of five wins in the final six races.

Lineup Changes And Milestones

This weekend also marks some fresh firsts. A new Team Principal takes charge for the opening round, while the #13 car carries a driver making their first start in Jaguar colours. The long-serving #9 driver embarks on a tenth season with the team and will start what will be his 127th E-Prix for the squad. Both cars finished on the São Paulo podium last year, a reminder of how well the team adapts to street racing in Brazil.

Technology Moving From Track To Road

What happens on track is not only about trophies. The hardware and software proven in Formula E will feed into the next generation of Jaguar all-electric road cars, previewed by the Type 00 concept. The knowledge gained in the GEN3 Evo era is already being applied to production‑car thinking, and the team has confirmed a long-term commitment to the GEN4 era that starts in 2026.

Motivation And Momentum

The tone in the garage is bullish. The team arrives buoyed by last season’s late run and by the belief that momentum, when well cultivated, tends to have a nasty habit of continuing. Drivers and engineers alike have been working through the off-season to sharpen up, learn from last year and strike early in a championship that rarely hands out second chances.

The new season promises close margins and street circuits that reward bravery and precision in equal measure. If you like your racing with character, noise and the occasional bit of tactical genius, São Paulo should not disappoint.
