Haval H6 Expands With Two New Electrified Models Now

GWM has taken the sensible and slightly showy step of widening the Haval H6 family with two new electrified variants. One is a plug-in hybrid that gives you a neat entry into PHEV territory without requiring you to downsize your ego. The other brings all-wheel drive to a conventional hybrid setup, which means you can tackle a wet roundabout with both confidence and style.
What Has Been Added
The newcomers are the Haval H6 Lux 2WD Plug-in Hybrid, priced from $44,990 driveaway, and the Haval H6 Ultra AWD Hybrid, from $47,490 driveaway. The Lux PHEV offers a clear on-ramp for buyers who want plug-in technology, while the Ultra AWD Hybrid pairs traditional hybrid efficiency with all-wheel-drive traction thanks to GWM’s Hi4 system.
Hi4 Technology Explained
Hi4 stands for Hybrid Intelligent 4WD and it is, in short, clever. It blends petrol and electric drive between the axles to deliver instant torque, better efficiency, and improved grip when things get muddy or slippery. The system flips between driving modes depending on what you need – maximum performance when the mood strikes, maximum economy when it does not. For day-to-day driving that means refined electrified motoring with the reassurance of AWD when required.
Range, Pricing And Availability
GWM has positioned the H6 as one of the more comprehensive electrified mid-size SUV families on the market. The 2025 line-up and driveaway prices for private buyers are as follows.
– H6 Lux 2.0L Turbo petrol 2WD from $35,990.
– H6 Lux 1.5L Turbo petrol hybrid 2WD from $40,990.
– H6 Lux 1.5L Turbo PHEV 2WD from $44,990.
– H6 Ultra 2.0L Turbo petrol 2WD from $38,990.
– H6 Ultra 1.5L Turbo petrol hybrid 2WD from $43,990.
– H6 Ultra 1.5L Turbo petrol hybrid AWD from $47,490.
– H6 Ultra 1.5L Turbo PHEV 2WD from $47,990.
– H6 Ultra 1.5L Turbo PHEV AWD from $50,990.
The expanded Haval H6 range will be in GWM showrooms across Australia from mid-September 2025.
Equipment And Safety
The Lux comes well equipped with 19 inch black alloy wheels, LED lighting, keyless entry, an electric tailgate with kick sensor on most models, a 14.6 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, and a comprehensive suite of driver aids. Safety is generous with seven airbags, a 360 degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child anchors, and active systems such as automatic emergency braking with junction assist and pedestrian and cyclist detection.
The Ultra builds on that with a panoramic roof, rear privacy glass, heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory and lumbar support, a head-up display, auto park assist on most versions, and upgraded audio depending on the powertrain. In short, the Ultra is the slightly posher, slightly more cosseting H6.
Warranty And Aftercare
GWM backs the new H6 range with a comprehensive care package: a seven year unlimited kilometre new car warranty, an eight year unlimited kilometre battery pack warranty, five years of 24 hour roadside assistance, and five years of capped price servicing. The network comprises 117 dealerships across the country, so parts and help are not hidden in a field somewhere.
If you want an SUV that lets you choose how electrified you wish to be, the Haval H6 range now offers more options than a sandwich shop at lunchtime.
