Palisade Black Ink: Calligraphy Gets Dark Treatment

Meet the Palisade Black Ink – the Calligraphy you know, but sulkier. Think of it as the flagship SUV that put on all-black and decided to behave like it owns the neighbourhood. It swaps brightwork for shadow and keeps the creature comforts intact, which is a rare and useful combination.

Outside, the treatment is thorough. The grille, window surrounds, lower bumpers, beltline, emblems and badging are all darkened. Gloss black 21-inch wheels and black roof rails finish the look. Buyers can pick Abyss Black for full stealth or Creamy White if they prefer their noir with a splash of contrast – which, frankly, is oddly satisfying.

Inside, It Keeps Its Temper

The cabin doubles down on black Nappa leather and replaces bright alloys with exclusive black metallic trim. It sounds austere on paper, but in reality it feels premium and composed – a calm, dark cockpit that still plays nice with tech such as the large centre touchscreen and driver displays.

Power, Specs And What You Pay

Black Ink uses the next generation 2.5 T-GDi Hybrid powertrain – 6-speed automatic and all-wheel drive – the same driveline that underpins the rest of the range. It is offered in eight- or seven-seat layouts. The Black Ink starts at $92,400 MLP and lands in dealerships this month. If you want the 7-seat option it adds about $1,000. Premium paint charges that apply to some variants are not an extra for Black Ink.

Bits That Matter

Safety and convenience kit remain generous – SmartSense active safety systems, surround view camera, adaptive cruise systems and a high-quality audio setup are all on the spec sheet. There is also a competitive aftersales package with extended warranty terms and battery coverage to match the hybrid powertrain – the sort of reassurance that makes ownership less of a drama.

In short, Black Ink is Calligraphy in a tuxedo – looks a touch meaner, keeps the luxury, and costs a little more for the privilege. If you like your large SUV with attitude and leather, this one will tick the boxes.
