BYD claims more than 100 kilometres of pure electric driving and fuel consumption as low as 1.0 L/100 km on the standardised combined test cycle. Bear in mind those figures come from laboratory procedures and may differ from real-world driving, depending on load, driving style and conditions.
Safety And Family-Friendly Equipment
Safety is taken seriously: nine airbags, ISOFIX anchor points in the third row, third-row emergency locking seatbelts, seatbelt reminders all round and an electronic child safety lock form the core protections. Comfort fixtures aimed at families include automatic three-zone climate control, ceiling vents for the second and third rows, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for compatible devices, and a sensible spread of charging points: two USB-C ports in the front row and a USB-C plus USB-A in the second row.
Trims, Pricing And Availability
The SEALION 8 is offered in three trims: Dynamic FWD, Dynamic AWD and Premium AWD. Recommended retail prices excluding on-road costs are $56,990 for the DM-I Dynamic FWD, $63,990 for the DM-P Dynamic AWD, and $70,990 for the DM-P Premium AWD. Dealers are now taking orders. Prices exclude statutory charges and optional colours or features, which may add to the final cost.
