Škoda has quietly added a sensible dose of electrified swagger to its Kodiaq line. Meet the Select PHEV, a comfort-focused large SUV that slots neatly between the Sportline and the ballistic RS, offering a blend of high specification and genuinely useful electric range. It will arrive in showrooms in early 2026.

Performance And Range

Under the bonnet there is a 1.5 TSI petrol engine teamed with an 85 kW electric motor. Together they produce 150 kW and 350 Nm, which is enough to shove this sizeable machine to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. In polite testing conditions the battery can manage up to 112 km on the WLTP cycle, which is more than most plug-in large SUVs manage, and makes true day-to-day electric driving perfectly feasible for many buyers.

Charging And Efficiency

Charging options are practical rather than theatrical, with 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC capability, so you can top up at home overnight or get a worthwhile boost on a quick stop. Škoda lists a combined-cycle fuel consumption as low as 1.85 litres per 100 km, a lab-derived figure that, like all such numbers, will depend on driving style and conditions.

Driving Modes And Battery Management

The Kodiaq Select PHEV lets you choose how you want to travel. There is full electric E-mode, and a hybrid mode for when you want the engine and the motor to cooperate. Brake energy recovery can be set to low, high or automatic, and the battery can be managed in two ways: automatic, where the engine will help recharge the battery when needed, or manual, where the car waits for plug-in charging to restore battery charge.

Practicality

This is still a five-seat Kodiaq, and the plug-in layout does not undermine practicality. The boot offers 745 litres of luggage space, which is more than respectable for family holidays, DIY runs or anything else that requires shoving things into a hole at the back.

Standard Equipment And Safety

The Select PHEV is well appointed as standard. Think 19 inch alloy wheels, keyless access, heated power-folding mirrors, a power-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats and tri-zone climate control. The cabin is driven by a 13 inch infotainment screen with DAB and navigation, and it supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are twin 15 W wireless chargers with active ventilation and no fewer than five USB-C ports, one discreetly placed in the rear-view mirror. Safety kit is comprehensive too, including Adaptive Cruise with Travel Assist and Traffic Jam Assist, Side Assist, Lane Assist with adaptive lane guidance, Turn Assist, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, traffic sign recognition and nine airbags.

Signature Package

Following the end of the Launch Edition run, Škoda will offer a Signature Package across the 2.0 TSI and PHEV Select models. It upgrades creature comforts and convenience with eight-way massage front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat with lumbar and memory, Intelligent Park Assist, Surround Area View, Matrix LED headlights with Dynamic Light Assist, an illuminated front grille, a hands-free Virtual Pedal tailgate, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard rear seats, a head-up display and rear dynamic indicators.

Availability

The Kodiaq Select PHEV will arrive in the first quarter of 2026. For those unwilling to wait, the Kodiaq Select 2.0 TSI 4×4, Sportline 2.0 TSI 4×4 and RS 4×4 are available now.

Note: WLTP range and laboratory fuel consumption figures are useful for comparisons, but real-world results will vary with weather, load, driving style and other conditions.
