The new Mitsubishi ASX arrives to remind everyone why compact SUVs sell by the truckload. It keeps the practical bones that made the name popular, but dresses them in sharper clothes, adds modern connectivity and a drivetrain that gets on with the job without fuss. Local showrooms will see it from Q4, 2025.

Sophisticated Styling

Built on the CMF-B architecture shared across the alliance, the ASX wears Mitsubishi identity with confidence. The front end pairs a blacked-out lower bumper with a three-dimensional grille and the brand badge, while full LED lighting and swept C-shaped rear lamps flank broad MITSUBISHI lettering. The stance is finished with either 17 or 18 inch alloy wheels depending on trim.

Efficient, Responsive Drivetrain

At launch the ASX runs a 1.3 litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine that puts out 113 kilowatts and 270 Newton metres of torque through a seven speed dual clutch transmission to the front wheels. It is smooth, eager and sensible. On the official ADR 81/02 test the combination is about 16 percent more fuel efficient and emits 19 percent less carbon than the previous 2.0 litre model, with fuel consumption of 6.4 L per 100 km and CO2 of 142 g per km.

Equipment And Safety

Every ASX comes generously equipped, with features that include climate control, paddle shift, a smart card, electric parking brake with auto hold, dusk sensing headlamps, rain sensing wipers, a rear view camera and a raft of driver aids. Active safety and assistance systems such as Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Assist, Driver Attention Alert and Safe Distance Warning are standard across the range.

Model Range And Pricing

The entry grade ASX LS is priced from $37,740 RRP and brings a 10.4 inch Smartphone Link Display Audio screen, a 7 inch combination meter, 17 inch alloys, electrically adjustable heated mirrors, a centre console armrest, cloth seats and practical touches like cruise control with speed limiter and rear parking sensors. It is the sensible, well equipped start point.

Step up to the ASPIRE at $42,690 RRP and the car acquires embedded navigation with Google built in on the 10.4 inch system, Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, plus a 10 inch TFT instrument display and 18 inch wheels. The ASPIRE adds ambient lighting, wireless charging, heated steering wheel, auto dimming mirror, electric folding mirrors and privacy glass. It also introduces drive modes including Eco, Comfort, Sport and Perso for personalising steering, stability control, engine response and interior ambience. Advanced assistance such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist and the semi autonomous Mi Pilot package are included, together with blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert.

At the top is the ASX EXCEED, priced from $46,490 RRP, which adds a panoramic sunroof, two tone paint, a frameless auto dimming mirror, velvet granite trim, leather seats with heated front seats and a power driver seat. It is the plush option for those who want a touch of luxury in a compact package.

Mitsubishi backs the new ASX with a market leading 10 year, 200,000 kilometre manufacturer warranty and a 10 year capped price servicing program. Owners also receive up to four years of complimentary roadside assistance, providing long term peace of mind alongside a widespread dealer network.
