Thredbo Resort is experiencing an exceptional winter season, courtesy of a relentless polar-powered snowstorm. The latest overnight snowfall added another 9cm, bringing the storm’s total accumulation to an impressive 14cm, transforming the resort into a snowy wonderland.
The storm began on Sunday afternoon and has been unyielding in its delivery of fresh snow, blizzard conditions, and freezing temperatures. This morning, the village awoke to a pristine blanket of white, delighting visitors, especially families enjoying the second week of the NSW school holidays.
Despite the wintry conditions, skiers and snowboarders enthusiastically hit the slopes to enjoy the fresh powder. Strong winds from the previous day have created significant snow drifts, adding to the excitement by forming ample powder stashes for riders to explore.

These freezing temperatures are ideal for snowmaking operations, allowing Thredbo’s crew to utilise over 100 snowmaking guns for up to 14 hours each night over the past three days. This ensures a consistent and high-quality snow cover across the resort, enhancing the skiing and snowboarding experience.
